This is not your parents’ library catalog.

Filed under: Resources and Services,Uncategorized @ 11:23 am and

How would you like a way to search the GIL library catalog, almost everything in GALILEO, and Eaglescholar, our free online archive of theses, with a single search box, along with several easy ways to narrow down the hits by topic, date, etc.?

We’ve been analyzing 4 different “discovery services” which are created for just that–  a one-stop search you can use when you’re not sure what exactly you need.  (GIL, GALILEO, and EagleScholar will still be there when you need to find specific books, or search specific databases.)

So here is your free sample.  (This brand of discovery service, from EBSCO, happens to look like their databases, but this is a different, and much more powerful, animal!)  Give it a spin.  Share the scoop with your friends.  Maybe it’ll even help you finish up those final research papers.  We’d love to know what you think!  Please comment below, or use our short feedback form here.
