Zach S. Henderson Library’s Special Collections is hosting an exhibit about the history of southeastern Georgia railways and how they have evolved over time. The exhibit will be on display from May 1 – July 2, and focuses on the historic Southern Railway and Central of Georgia Railway, both of which operated around the Statesboro area. The modern Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and the Georgia Rails Into Trails Society (G.R.I.T.S.), which strive to create recreational paths from abandoned railways, are also featured. Exhibit materials on display include photographs, train orders, newsletters and promotional items.
