Faculty Panel Discussion: “Religious Journeys: A Quest for Harmony”, Nov. 14th @ 7PM

Henderson Library is hosting a faculty panel discussion featuring Georgia Southern Professors Ahmet Akturk, Hemchand Gossai, Nicole Karapanagiotis and Youssef Salhi. The event is free and will take place in the Nessmith Lane Assembly Hall on Thursday, November 14th at 7:00PM.  The public is welcome to attend. Panelists will speak on the following topics:

Akturk: “Between Nostalgia and Hope: Religious Diversity in the Middle East.”
Gossai: “Remembering Abraham: Journey to Reconciliation.”
Karapanagiotis: “Lived Islam and Hinduism in India: Unbounded and (In)separable.”
Salhi: “Jews in Morocco: A Model for the Arab World.”

Following the presentations, panelists will respond to questions from the audience. Attendance verification will be provided.  More information about this event is available here.

The Averitt Center for the Arts and the Statesboro Regional Library are community partners for the event. The panel discussion is one of several community events provided through a Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys grant. The grant was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association.
